Ode to a Dead Blog
O, dead blog
we hardly knowed yuh.
We came into this world
slowly and left less slowly,
some would say almost quickly.
We'll meet on the other side,
dead blog.
You'll be there with Johnny Cash
and his bride who is young again.
You'll be there with that dog of mine
that got diabetes and we had to put down.
You'll be there with Minnie Pearl
and Waylon and Willie (who's still around I hear)
and that rat I gave to the pound
before I left for the Marines
in the summer of '86.
But you haven't left yet,
dead blog.
There are weeks of archives
that the curious may yet peruse.
Let's call you dormant, not dead
blog.
You are a aluminum Christmas tree
sitting in a box in the garage in July.
You may feel close to despair but,
like that tree, someone has you
in their mind.

I have a bunch of things coming up, but I swear I'll post once I have some free time and inspiration. There's a lot of stress and paperwork now that I've gotten in to NCSSM.
I'm (probably) signing up for a short story writing class next year. Funny how what finally gets me to sign up for a writing course is getting into a math and science school.
Maybe you have the power to bring back this wheezing shell of a blog.
Oooh, harsh one there, Ed. I agree with Matthew, when I get time and inspiration, I'll post. At least you made it kind of humorous how our poor blog has been abandoned..*sigh*
Of course, it's not ALL our fault. There's the evils of school, writer's block and the sadly few 24 hours in a day...
But still, when I can, I'll post poems or write up more Windborn chapters. So maybe between me and Matthew and the possible addition of my other depressed friend (if you'd allow her to join) we'll be able to bring back this "wheezing shell of a blog." Luisa would constantly update depressing poems, unless I miss my mark.
So cheer up, no? Maybe our blog's just waking up from hibernation or something.
Grace, if you have a friend you want to invite, let me know and I'll send her an invite.
Okay, her email is LUNAT10@AOL.com
Hello to anyone still checking up to see if more comments are being posted! I have good news. My Language Arts class is doing creative writing, so in two weeks or less, I'll have some stuff to post!
You remember that chapter I read last writer's meeting? I'm going to be writing the REAL first chapter to that unless I change topics again. (it's really hard to choose- we can write absolutely anything school-appropriate.)
So, uh, people who still check the blog now an' then, look forward to it! (Or dread it, either way...)
Perhaps I should have just posted this by itself...ah well.
You know, I didn't really pay attention to this before, but this is actually a pretty cool poem! But it's depressing, just like all the other stuff we write...*sigh*.
